Three entities decided to connect the defense and security sphere with the latest technological research and innovation management. The Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics of the Czech Technical University in Prague (CIIRC CTU), TRIX Connections, a startup founded at the Czech Technical University, and the Training Command – Military Academy in Vyškov (VeV-VA) have concluded a memorandum of cooperation. Its subject is the joint coordination of research activities and the sharing of access in the field of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence with the aim of long-term development of security and defense research and development.

The area of cooperation is relatively extensive and also concerns the possibilities of exchange internships, excursions and participation in events or meetings organized by stakeholders. Not only employees of all three entities, but also talented students or even other partners can be involved in these activities. The aim is to establish closer cooperation and contacts and mutual information on the usable results of research and development.

“Our institute and the entire CTU have a lot to offer,” says Ondřej Velek, director of CIIRC CTU, specifying the areas of cooperation: “It can concern the results in the field of artificial intelligence, telemedicine as well as robotic applications.” At the same time, search for opportunities and suitable applications will not be limited to the above listed, as Brigadier General Ing. Radek Hasala, Commander of VeV-VA, indicated: “Interesting topics are related to both information technology as well as nano- and biotechnology. Our goal is to move cooperation with state and civilian entities a bit further, not only in the field of research and development, but also in applications and production.”

The TRIX Connections technology start-up, which takes care of the technology transfer in the field of advanced technologies from the academic sphere towards further application, will play an important role in this. “We are committed to contributing to the efficient transfer of knowledge and technology to and for the benefit of all parties,” said TRIX Connections, Vice President, gen. František Malenínský. “Our strength is that we can effectively create a link between theory and practice, identify suitable opportunities for the application of new technologies and provide targeted advice for the further development of such cooperation.”
